Enjoy a six-day experience through some of Northern California’s most beautiful areas. Starting in the Napa Valley Wine country, we’ll take day trips, pedaling towards the coast through the Marin Headlands, with views looking down to the San Francisco Bay. The tour also includes lodging accommodations in Calistoga, widely considered the “gem” of Napa, as well as several nights in Mill Valley, which overlooks the Marin Peninsula and estuary. This experience is also filled with wine and food pairings at several iconic vineyards such as Sol Bar on the Auberge Solage Resort. Breathtaking views of the Golden Gate bridge, the Great Muir Redwoods are, of course, paired alongside our daily guided rides through the area. Your ride includes rolling hills past vineyard land among a backdrop of alpine and grassland. Enjoy a short climb around Lake Hennesy before arriving at Davis Estates Vineyard for a Cabernet Sauvignon AVA wine exploration wine-tasting with food pairing.
Davis Estates wine experience includes a walking tour of the property to get a first-hand view of the Calistoga Appellation. Seated at a private table, your host will guide you through four Cabernet wines from different Napa Valley American Viticultural Areas (AVA).
To explore deeper characteristics of each wine, the executive chef has crated unique dishes with multiple components to pair with each Cabernet wine. This tasting is the pinnacle for connoisseurs of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Enjoy a mostly-leisurely ride through the heart of Napa Valley from the historic town of Calistoga, through St. Helena into the heart of Napa. Tour will include pedaling along the iconic Napa Valley Vine Trail class III bike path. Your tour will stop to visit Madonna Estate Vineyards in the Carneros AVA, followed by lunch at the Boon-Fly Café just outside Napa proper.

Today we will depart from the Holiday Inn Mill Valley immediately onto a Class III bike path along the Bothin Marsh Preserve. Enjoy watching the morning seabirds in this estuary on the western edge of Richardson Bay as we head towards Tiburon Peninsula. At the northern shore of the San Francisco Bay area, we will see the island of Alcatraz in the distance with vistas of downtown San Francisco to the south. Shortly before heading back towards the Marin Headlands, we will stop for lunch in the vibrant waterfront town of Sausalito.

After lunch, we will continue pedaling along the western edge of Richardson Bay as we head towards the Marin Headlands and the northern edge of the Golden Gate Bridge. We will pedal up a short, but challenging bike path towards Hawk Hill for an unforgettable photo op overlooking this iconic gateway to San Francisco.

DAY FIVE: Saturday, “Mt. Tamalpais, Muir Woods & Stinson Beach”

Level of Difficulty: moderate with challenging climbs
Today’s ride is the “queen stage” of this tour, with the most challenging climb. This tour begins along the familiar Richardson Bay estuary bike path into downtown Mill Valley. Shortly after passing through downtown, we will begin climbing along a quiet road among a canopy of redwood trees.
Once we ascend onto the Panoramic HWY above the Muir Woods National Park, you have the option to challenge yourself up to the East Fork of Mount Tamalpais – the iconic climb of Marin. Shortly after the climb, we will descend to the beautiful Pacific Coastline and enjoy lunch in the seaside village of Stinson Beach.

After lunch, our tour continues along the edge of Muir Woods as we ascend back towards the opposite side of the Marin Headlands back towards our hotel in Mill Valley.
